Currency redesign concept of two banknotes for the People’s Republic of China’s Renminbi following a theme of conservationalism.

The development of the currency’s concept was inspired by the striking beauty of China’s national parks and aimed to find a way to showcase them alongside representations of native flora and fauna significant to Chinese culture.

Considerations for the banknote’s design took particular notice to the integration of security and anti-counterfitting measures in order to accurately develop an appearance that was not only visually appealing but also functional.

Depictions throughout the designs took a focus on Huanglong and Zhangjiajie National Parks, native birds such as the magpie and crane, featured plants in the plum blossom, bamboo, and lotus imagery, and are composed in an uplifting pastel palette.
